See through water!

The summer months are fundamental for your pond to be functioning most effectively. It’s when runs the risk of algae blooms, shortage of oxygen, murky water and fish disease and death are most frequent. That’s why we recommend doing maintenance of your equipment during the hot summer months. It’s so important that your equipment should be performing at its best level 24 hours a day during the warm weather to make sure it maintains a healthy ecosystem especially if you have a Koi pond.

A well working pond usually requires a combination of a good quality filtration system, a powerful pump, a skimmer fish net, Aeration system. Each piece of equipment serves its purpose in helping the pond to remain healthy by keeping oxygen levels up and avoiding the undesirable algae blooms.

One remarkable side effect of this additional aerator is that it helps break down sludge on the bottom, when the freshly oxygenated water flows to the bottom of the pond, there is a chemical reaction between all the new oxygen in your water, and any rotting, icky, grossness, gathering on the bottom of your pond floor.

The positive charge of the oxygen, frees the negatively charge molecules on the gooey stuff, ( like hydrogen sulfide) and a chemical reaction breaks them down into water and Sulphur dioxide, a gas that can now leave the pond, purifying your water quality.
